ABOUT LMS

The LED multimedia system (LMS) is a modern technology consisting of several hundred LED panels installed on the wall of the metro tube. The LMS displays a short video or animation in real time on the window of a passing metro train.

How our system works

The LMS uses the principle of Zoetrope, the world's first animation device, which is based on the concept of the "persistence of vision" in our brain. We have modernized this principle and implemented it into our technology, wherevideos and animations are spread across 480 LED panels. When the static images are lined up correctly, our brain combines them into a smooth sequence, creating the illusion of movement.
Czech Republic is first again!
Prague is the first European city where passengers can experience LMS technology on more than one metro section.

Advertising is all around us, but what truly matters is how it’s done. At EUDI, we believe that public spaces deserve refined and aesthetically pleasing advertising that not only captures attention but also entertains. That’s why we use 21st-century technology that respects its surroundings and pushes the boundaries of what’s possible.

FAQ

The LED multimedia system (LMS) is a modern technology consisting of several hundred LED panels installed in a row on the wall of a metro tube. The LMS (together with bespoke IT software) displays a short video or animation on the window of a passing subway in real time.

The system works on the simple principle of the Zoetrope, which utilizes a function of our brain – the "persistence of vision." When we arrange static images in sequence, our brain connects them into a smooth flow, creating the illusion of motion. We’ve given the principle of the world’s first animation device a modern twist and combined it with our advanced IT software.

The LMS is certainly not just about advertising, although it might seem so at first glance. The advantage of the LMS is that it does not take up any space from the public space (i.e. it does not interfere or disturb the atmosphere of the places) and is active for about 10-15 seconds. In case the passenger does not want to be "bothered" by the messages, he can simply avert his eyes.
One of the other senses of use is also the cultural and artistic aspect - we cooperate for example with the Signal Festival and we try to open the space also to budding artists from universities.
Last but not least, we want to use the system in the future also for "real-time" announcements for passengers - whether from the DPP or for example from the emergency services.

During development, we made sure that the technology is completely safe for all passengers – including those with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. LMS does not rely on rapid flashing that could trigger seizures, but instead uses visual stimuli similar to those seen on digital displays around cities. Based on consultations with experts, we are confident that LMS does not pose an increased risk for individuals with seizure disorders.

In fact, LMS consumes up to 70% less energy than other digital displays. Our LED panels don’t stay on constantly, but only for a few seconds – precisely when a metro train passes by. For the production of our technology, we choose materials that extend the system's lifecycle and are mostly recyclable.
